Probably one of the reasons you chose PVC membrane to cover your exterior surface is the fact that it is easy to maintain and clean. You made a good decision. Compared to the maintenance required by other solutions, the vinyl membrane is very advantageous; you want to enjoy the summer and not waste too much time cleaning.
There are a few small items to inspect; do it once when the snow melts, a few times in the summer, and once in the fall.
Things to observe are:
If any caulking joints appear cracked or missing, please install new ones, according to the installers instructions. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact them.
If hot-air seams appear torn or undone, immediately cover the exposed surface with industrial tape (Duct Tape type) and contact your PVC membrane installer. An installer will come to carry out the repair on your deck vinyl covering as soon as possible.
It is suggested that you clean your Bestdeck surface three to four times a year. Preferably use a biodegradable all-purpose cleaner and hot water and scrub with a stiff broom to loosen encrusted dirt. Afterwards, rinse your surface thoroughly with a garden hose until all the soap and dirt are evacuated.
Do not use strong products or solvents; this may slightly change the color or pattern of your membrane.
If you opt for a pressure washer, be sure not to set the pressure higher than 1500 psi and have the end of your hose more than 24 inches from the surface. Avoid hosing joints, caulking and other removable items on railings or along the house.
This small investment of time made annually will ensure that you can enjoy your vinyl deck membrane for as long as possible. If you have any questions about the maintenance of your terrace, do not hesitate to contact us.
